Options to Deal With Utility Companies
There are clear challenges and concerns when dealing with utility companies on the topic of digital and smart meters.
Some utilities offer an "opt-out" option. These typically come with punitive fees. Some sources suggest that if we opt out, we are agreeing to a coercive contract on their terms when we never agreed to the harm imposed in the first place. Some people have challenged the utility company requirement of having to pay an'opt-out' fee and extra monthly charges and had the utility turn off their electricity.
Also, supposing you opt out of the current digital meter, and then they later install a smart meter. Would you have to opt out again on the new meter? And please remember that utilities are known for granting an opt out on a transmitting meter, and then it turns out to be a lie.
If you use an EMR gauge, such as the Acoustimeter AM-10 EMF Meter, you well may find that there is still a transmitter inside the utilities' meter! Obviously I cannot suggest which path you take, as there could be considerable legal implications for the path you choose. So use your own discernment and consult a lawyer for appropriate legal advise.
Some sources, such as those mentioned below, have suggested that there are legal justifications for demanding that the utilities take such clearly harmful technologies off our homes. There are definitely successes there, but I don't know how often as data on the topic has not been compiled.
Many people use technologies and products to block the radiation. Even aluminum foil can block EMR to an extent that is worthwhile. As a minimum, thick aluminum foil should definitely be mounted on the inside wall (where the meter is on the outside of the wall) to block much of the radiation from coming through the house wall where the meter is. It definitely helps, and more layers means more protection from the EMFs. It may help to alternate layers of aluminum foil and thick plastic. But keep in mind that this does nothing for the dirty electricity caused by the switch mode power supplies that all digital meters have) that cause high levels of dirty electricity to run through our homes. There are whole-house filters that can reduce that dirty electricity, and there are line filters for individual outlets, but these line filters do little for the dirty electricity running through all of the wiring of the house.
The utilities own their meters but not anything around them. Some suggest that if you are a home owner, you can build a box around their meters to prevent them from swapping out a current analog meter with a digital one. If there is already a digital meter, the box you build can use aluminum foil inside to block the transmissions of the meter. If you do a good job, the utilities would have to send a person out to read your meter monthly. Obviously you would want to leave a viewing window or a door that easily opens so the meter can be read.

An excellent documentary that you can watch to get further up to speed on much of this is called "Take Back Your Power - Full Documentary" - free on YouTube. The first 5 minutes are a real eye-opener, as a panel of judges grill an industry lawyer on the dangerous health impacts. The first half is primarily on the violations of our Fourth Amendment / privacy rights, while the second half covers health impacts. The documentary concludes with a legal process that can be used to force utilities to remove transmitting meters. This legal process has been called into question by some sources, so I prefer the How To Say No To Vaccinations and Smart Meters approach in the link above.
Excellent Letter From Dr. Martin Pall, PhD
There is a powerful letter from Martin Pall, PhD that can be found at the bottom of the Quotes page of this website. While the purpose of his letter was to address the dangers associated with 5G technologies, his words make it clear that the same issues apply to digital meters and other wireless technologies. Given the compelling evidence he presents, it seems to me that one could, theoretically, be able to use this letter to demand a utility remove any digital meter and replace it with an analog meter that does not transmit.
Whichever path you choose, if you are going to challenge a utility company on their agenda, it would probably be prudent to consult with a lawyer first.
DOCTORS AND RESEARCHERS RING ALARM BELLS
There are hundreds of doctors and researchers around the globe that state unambiguously that there is substantial harm caused by transmitting technologies. They are calling for moratoriums and further research before such technologies continue to be rolled out. One video shows a member of the United Nations reading an appeal to the Secretary General of the UN. It might be possible to use some of this content to prove the harm caused in court cases and/or compel electric, gas, and water utility companies to remove digital meters.

EXPOSURE GUIDELINES
Exposure guidelines have not been updated in decades. They were developed based on thermal effects rather than the impact that radiation has been proven to have on DNA, on our mitochondria. These guidelines in no way account for the exponential growth of wireless technologies and the associated increase in electromagnetic radiation.

There are a number of options to deal with the digital meters put on our homes by utility companies. These strategies range from using aluminum foil to block the transmissions, to building a closet or box around meters, to legal proceedings.
